So sorry for the long delay adventurers. We hope you've all been hanging in there. It has been a busier than usual couple of months. I have been getting more responsibilities at work; which is great, but it's meant that I am much busier and have had less time to spend blogging it up. Rest assured Bailey is still a funny, silly, smart, spoiled and an extremely well dressed child. :) I can't believe it is March! Spring is right around the corner and we are getting really excited to be able to play outside. Bring on the great Spring weather before Summer comes and I then try to avoid the heat and the sun.
Here is a quickish rundown of Smithtown over the last 2 months. Bailey got her 4 year old immunizations and is all set for Preschool in the fall. We debated starting her in Kindergarten early, as she is super smart, but decided we didn't need to rush her brilliance. So, I know that Bailey is 4, but we had a real struggle with potty training fun. It seemed to go on and on and on. She did great with "1", but hated "2" use the potty for that. But I can happily say that she finally decided it was a great idea to use the potty ALL the time - EVERY TIME. I think the receiving of a "prize" every time helped. She is now the proud owner of over 40 pez dispensers.
I also put together a makeup bag for Bailey so she can have her own and not use mine. To say that she is obsessed is putting it mildly. She loves it and I am actually really impressed with her application. She also wants to wear pink nearly every day and is really loving Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin at the moment. She loves to put on her Belle costume and dance and twirl around the house. Bailey also let me know that she doesn't have a Jasmine costume and that we need to get one very soon. She is definitely right on that - a problem I will rectify shortly I am sure. Don't tell Trevor. :)
I am only using oxygen at night and as needed - I am so happy not to have to carry that tank around and feel tethered. We had a Superbowl party with my brother Dalan and his family where we made way too much food as usual, but it was all delicious and most definitely necessary. I think my chocolate covered rice crispy treat footballs will definitely make a return next year.
We celebrated Valentine's Day and Bailey loved decorating cookies and picking out special Valentine treats for her daddy which included a Darth Vader card and chocolate. She also helped me make homemade suckers to give out to people. Her favorite ones were the lips.
She really is quite the artist and creates cool things with her pladoh all the time.
Bailey has also been able to play with cousins a bit as well. Went to a bouncy house place with my brother Dalan and his family and then another day our girls had a playdate at his house. I also got to see my sister McKenna and her family a little as well. We went black light miniature golfing.and played some video-games. Adults and kids had a good time.
Creepy, but funny ladies
We also took Bailey to see Peppa Pig Live; Peppa's Big Splash last weekend. She loved it. It was pretty silly, but she had a great time and we had a great time watching her. She does keep asking when we are going back to Disneyland and talks about our adventures there all the time. We are thinking a Disney cruise might be our next big family trip.
Next up for Smithtown is a trip to Idaho for the annual St. Patrick's Day Granat Family day of fun. I think 4 out of the 6 Granat kids will be attending this year and I am really looking forward to it. It's always a loud and fun time when we get together - and that's the adults. Add our kiddos in the mix and you know hilarity and craziness will definitely ensue. I will try and be better about updating you all on Smithtown more frequently. Here are some bonus photos of fun for you viewing pleasure. Until next time...
Ice cream dreams came true. "This playdoh ice cream isn't really made of playdoh. It's just pretend..."
"Mom, does this work?" This is what happens when she can only reach the lower level of her closet and her leggings drawer. It did work, she just needed a shirt. Ha!
This girl didn't get into a fight - she just plays hard. Thank goodness she has enough clothes for several children and had a super fun day.
She's decided it's really funny to hold the hands of mannequins or whatever she sees. Silly girl.
"Mom, take a picture of me by Mickey..."
This pretty kitty had her check up and shots just like Bailey.
And check out this pretty guy. You didn't know that I was married to Trevor Tatum - Channing Tatum's brother. Fun with the makeup app.
