"My Girl Wants to Party all the Time..."

...Party all the Time.

It has been a busy past month of partying in our household and on visits to other familial households as well. We had a super fun St. Patrick's Day party at my parents house with a most of the Granat's in attendance (minus a very sad Kirse and fam and very pregnant Christy). It was green, yummy, funny, messy and LOUD. Those cousins sure do have fun when they get together. What a bunch of goofballs. The weather cooperated for the most part and we were able to have a dance party and play outside for a large portion of the day.

I was lucky to get a new nephew a couple of weeks ago and Bailey was able to have a sleepover with Miss Esme. My brothers little girl. They had tons of fun and as it was Bailey's first ever cousin sleepover at her house. I was a bit nervous, but if they are as fun and easy as this one was; there will hopefully be many more to come.

Bailey has been able to spend quite a bit of time playing outside since the weather (minus a fun wind and winter storm this week) has been beautiful. She loves going to play at "Auntie Teddy's" house and run up and down the hill. She always gets treats and get to play in makeup - what's not to like?! They also just gave her a singing Elsa doll and she still refuses to "let it go".

And then it was time for Easter! We were fortunate to spend Easter day with my brother and his family. Bailey dyed Easter eggs and then we had an Easter egg hunt. It was super fun. This year the Easter Bunny brought some glitter princesses whose outfits are interchangeable and some candy for the entire household to enjoy. Bailey was also super excited for her Avengers cup and reminds us often that the Hulk is one of her favorites along with Captain America. Trevor couldn't be prouder that she knows her superheroes.

Silliness and fun continue in the Smith household of course. Here are a few I was lucky to capture.

"It's been a long time coming...

...But a change is gonna come..."

It has been a month of changes.

Weather, pull-ups, diapers, time, and lastly my hair. It happened. I chopped it off and dyed it (for the first time ever) red. I love it so much and I am definitely feeling a bit sassier. Everyone seems to love it other than my mom who feels that I've destroyed "your one beauty" (Little Women). Oh well - it will grow back so don't hate too hard mom. I donated the 12+ inch long braid and hopefully my hair will bring others joy. It was definitely feeling like a heavy quilt of hair; quite pretty sure; but too much of it.

I am now feeling fun and ready for spring. We sprang forward and I don't know how one little hour can cause such chaos and horror, but it has. Ever since the time change Bailey thinks she and I are supposed to play for at least an hour in the middle of the night. She also doesn't want to go to sleep. So it's a real win win going on in our house at the moment.

Oscar Sunday Attire: Sequins and Faux Fur of Course.

Weather. Utah weather is always a bit bizarro, but this month has been particularly confusing. We finally got some snow, much to Baileys joy, then sunny 65+ degrees, cold again and then more wind and rain. Make up your mind. My wardrobe can't take it. :)

Potty training continues. I don't know how any parent has ever done this. It's the worst. I think we are close to completion, but I don't want to jinx it.

We are headed to Idaho this weekend for some Granat Irish fun. St. Patrick's Day celebration fun here we come. I am pleasantly surprised to find out I have an actual (rather then hoped for) Irish background then previously known. Thanks goodness for my little Bailey O'Quinn. This information is thanks to the dna tests my parents received from my aunt and uncle for Christmas. Super cool!
So a family party celebrating St Patrick isn't that off the mark or the Blarney Stone.

Have a wonderful rest of March adventurers. May the luck of the Irish be with ye.

"All You Need Is Love..."

Happy February adventurers!

We hope you have had a pleasant and enjoyable month so far. We've been busy of course as always. Work is work and outside of that we have as much fun as possible. We have some fun at work, but really how much fun can one have there?

Thanks to this wackadoo weather we've been having we have been spending lots of time at the park and eating outside. It's February! No snow and while I'm not that sad - I am a bit anxious about what that means for the land of Deseret this summer.

We have been making our own snow with Bailey's new obsession of playdoh. She wants to play with it and talk to anyone who will listen about it (no stranger danger here) and watch YouTube videos of people making things with playdoh. Her favorites are the princess playdoh videos. "What color you want mommy". Silly funny girl.

Bailey is growing up too fast. She is definitely gettier sassier and continues to amaze us on a daily basis with words and things she can do. She has been working on her jumpshot, mastering the somersault, trying out her negotiating skills daily, ("I don't need dinner, candy...just 3 pieces..." "how about 5 more minutes...no 5 more..."Etc) and showing off her vocal talent. She loves to sing and her current favorite is "I am a child of God". And if hearing a 3 year old singing that song doesn't make you smile-then you have no soul. ;) She has figured out how much I like it and now when she gets in trouble for being naughty she starts to sing it so I won't be as mad. Clever girl. Ha!

We've also taught Bailey her full name and our little Bailey O'Quinn is definitely looking forward to some Irish St Patrick's Day fun in Idaho for the Granat family annual party.  Speaking of names, Bailey loves to ask people their name - everywhere. Strangers or otherwise. She is quite the outgoing social child. I have no idea where she gets that from. :)

Medical drama update: I'm still on oxygen at home (at night and as needed) and just finishing another round of antibiotics. Miss Bailey had an ear infection and bronchitis a few weeks ago. Trevor decided it was his turn to get sick since he was feeling just a bit too healthy. But now Smithtown is definitely on an upswing. I hope! The house has been cleaned and lysoled.

We had a nice Valentine's Day where we stayed home and cooked some yummy food and spent time together. Trevor got his girls treats and flowers and a hilarious card. I got him superhero potatoheads. It was perfect. I can't believe it's been 11 years since we got engaged. How sweet it is...

Every year as long as I can remember; my dad has given me a Valentine and candy. He takes the time to go through the cards which are mostly leftover from our school days and picks one or more. It's something that is so sweet (and funny) that I look forward to every Valentine's Day. I know that my mom plays a huge role in the logistics, and I appreciate and love them both for taking the time to remind me that they love me - even if I am supposedly an adult now.  This year it was a Barbie Valentine. Funny Daddio!

Have a great rest of your February and may the luck of the Irish be with ye...until next time!

"I have crazy hair mommy..." Yes you do!
