These are a few of her favorite things....

Bailey loves "playing" with Storm and the fact that Storm runs away from her; makes the chasing and
playing even better. Sometimes I will hear her laughing in the hallway and she and Storm are both laying down and batting at each other. Thank goodness that Storm has decided to play along for the most part.
Which leads us to Mommy's phone. Well, I have decided that I am a bad mother, but I think I am okay with that. For several months now she has been able to unlock my phone and go to whichever app she wants. Generally it is the PBS app, paint sparkles, or pictures and videos of herself, (should I be worried that she is going to be narcissistic), but sometimes she and Siri try to have conversations. It's pretty fun which is why it continues. If you ever receive an odd text or email from me, it is just Bailey saying hello. She never wants Trevor's phone as he was much smarter than I and never added any kid apps.

And last on the list: Light switches. She loves them and as "light" was one of her first real words it
makes sense. Now that she can reach them - with the aid of a box and now a step stool she is constantly turning them on and off. She is getting to be such a big kid and it's freaking me out. She loves walking down the stairs like a big kid and we have only had one mishap in regards to that. I know that parents are crazy and are constantly telling stories that most of us know are lies, but this is the truth - I promise and I have several witnesses.:)  So basically my 21 month old is reading. Ha! Not quite, but thanks to amazing parents (ha) and Super Why and her babysitter she is recognizing letters. I think this is amazing. She did it for the first time that I really noticed this weekend in Logan at my sisters house and then yesterday she read the letters of her name from the sign in her bedroom. Pretty sweet right?!

And now onto Trevor and myself. Things are busy as usual and it has been a zany few weeks. Trevor went to Salt Lake's Comic Con and met some fun celebrities (Dean Cain - sigh) and had a great time that he will talk about on our Granat family blog.

He also flew to Arizona to attend a Cardinals vs. Lions game with his brother and was able to hang out with his family. Someone is  happy it's football season. While he was in Arizona; I decided to head up to Logan to hang out with McKenna and it was super fun. You are never too old for a sleepover - especially if it's with your sister. Bailey had so much fun with her cousins and is getting better and better and remembering and saying everyone's name. She does however continue to say "Bye Bye Skipper" all the time - to everyone. Getting to see Grammy and Skipper for a few was an added bonus. She is a goofball and we are grateful for her everyday. This is a long post - who knew so much was going on in the last few weeks?! It will be October before we know it. Bring on the Fall weather and Fall attire. Until then adventurer's - keep adventuring.

Go Utes!

Yup, Mother of the year award should be arriving soon.
With Bailey's climbing skills increasing dramatically - Up went the stools much to Storm's enjoyment
Cool lady!

Notice the only posers are Bailey and Elise - McKenna, we must be doing something right. Ha!

"It's Getting Hot in Here..."

Well adventurers - it's true. Summer is coming to a close. School is starting for many and Fall will be here before you know it. We have had a very entertaining and busy summer and we are looking forward for a fun, but relaxed fall. In our household that mostly means football. Trevor could not be any more excited about the coming football season. I think he is particularly excited to teach Bailey football terms and get her to yell "Touch Down". We will probably need to buy her some football wear in the boys section again this year.

The past few weeks have been great and included a visit from my parents where my mom and I did some Christmas shopping. You read correctly - Christmas shopping. I am going to be completely organized and ready this year. I have already purchased quite a few items for the B and have to decide what should be for her birthday and what should be for Christmas. This is going to be a fabulous holiday season - seriously Trevor, I won't spend too much. Ha!

Bailey continues to talk and talk and talk and sometimes we can even understand her. Sometimes she will lay in her crib talking for almost an hour before she decides to go to sleep. She still remains the happiest and easiest child ever. I am sure we are doomed if we ever have another one. We are so excited about our new niece Harper and I can't wait to meet her in a couple months. Have a great last week of August and we will catch you on the flip side. Until then -

She lined these all up on her own and then proceeded to knock them back in the tub. She thinks she is hilarious.

Aquarium Fun!

It's the Eye of the Tiger...

"It's All About the Climb..."

Happy almost August adventurers. We hope that everyone is well and staying cool. It has been another busy few weeks in the Smith household. Both Trevor and I had birthdays, we had several overnight guests, a couple birthday parties to attend, a trip to the theatre with my brothers, golf, bowling, and a weekend in Idaho where we saw 'The Wolverine'.  (Highly enjoyable) Never a dull moment with us or the B.

Speaking of the Bailey - she is talking a lot. I started keeping a list of her words and I add to it when she says a new one. She is up to over 40 and is adding to it everyday. Her latest favorites are 'nana' (banana), Elmo, Abby, bubbles, cracker and our new favorite - Bang (as in the tv show Big Bang Theory). I am trying to capture her dancing to the theme song. Lucky for us it's on all day everyday so I am sure I will be able to capture it soon. :)

She also wants to go up and down the stairs like a big kid which is great unless you have somewhere you need to be quickly. She is very careful, but is becoming a dare devil and climbing as much as possible. Which is why I titled this post accordingly. She loves climbing on the couch and even has her spot, but she now has figured out how to get on the ottoman and then to the TV. She will even push it closer to the TV stand if she knows it's too far. She uses her toys like steps to get where she wants to be. Just this past week she figured out how to climb on the toilet and then make her way to the counter, sink and mirror. What a silly girl. Bailey definitely keeps us on our toes. We also decided to switch her car seat around (slightly before the new 2 year guideline), but she was getting a bit tall for rear facing. It is much easier to hand her stuff and see her. Our trip back from Idaho was fantastic.

We hope things are great for all of you. We will be back after a few words from our sponsors.
 (See you soon!) :)

34 and Looking Good! (Or Creepy - I am not sure) Ha!

Bowling and french fries?! Seems like an amazing idea for a Saturday afternoon...
